A glimpse into the fine arts

                                            EXPRESSIONISM ILLUMINATED

The Irish born Abstract expressionist painter Francis Bacon raised a critical aspect about art. His perspective concerning art is that art has no language and that language cannot be used to talk about art and even if this was possible its not whats important.

Whats important is how one feels when confronted with a certain canvas and the immediate impact that hits ones nervous system.

Francis began painting at a time when Cezanne reigned supreme in the art world albeit he was not inspired by him but rather by the expressionist painter Vincent Van Gore.

HEAD VI (1949)
One recurring and recognisable motif in Bacon's work that can be easily spotted on his figures especially on their countenances is that of the unrealistic physical distortions they possesse. Bacon always tried to imbue his artwork with shock and horror. This way of expressing himself in a way become an obsession.

The featured painting on the left is one of Bacon's signature work and is titled the Head VI.
